This week's embroidery tip is about creating templates in your software for all of the embroidery design jobs that you do over and over, such as names and numbers.  This is a huge time saver.  It's simple to do and can be accomplished in almost all levels and brands of embroidery software.

If you use a certain font for left chest names, you can create a template or recipe for that particular job application.  You many have different density, underlay and pullcomp settings for nylon jackets, wool jackets, sweatshirts, pique shirts etc. but you can save a different template or recipe for each application.  When the time comes to use that application, all you do is call up the template or recipe and you are all set with your style font, size and settings.  All you have to do is type in your information.

I have templates for standard left chest designs, arched, straight, 1 line, 2 lines and 3 lines. I save them in the different fabric settings so that I can instantly bring up a template and type in whatever wording I need to.  I know that they will sew out perfectly and I do not have to do a sample sew out because it's the same font, size and settings that I have used before, only the words have changed.

I have the same type of template set ups for my caps front and back, jacket back designs and fleece.  Creating these templates will really cut down on time spent at the computer and allow you to keep your machine running for longer.  The bottom line is, more machine time, more money!!!
