You have enough feet going through your your display area. You have enough expressions of Ohh's and Ahhh's when they view your embroidered articles. Your prices are in line with what is being charged elsewhere, but the problem is, customers pass through your shop and buy elsewhere.  Why?

The title of this post should say it all. Are you giving your customers what they want?  Or are you making something that will not sell in your area? To give you a rough idea of what you need to think about, here is a list of what will not sell no matter how hard you try to sell it:

•    Slippers do not sell well in warmer climates or in summer. People tend to wear thongs or go barefoot.
•    Baseball caps do not sell well in the winter.
•    Warm winter clothes sell well from autumn to mid-winter but will not sell well at other times of the year unless you are      selling to people in another part of the world that is experiencing winter weather.  You could then advertise on the        Internet, but would not have them on display in your shop.
•    T-shirts don't sell well in the winter unless they are part of a pajama set.
•    Dark coloured baseball caps are not well suited for outdoor wear in hot climates, they absorb heat.
•    Light coloured baseball caps are not suitable for professions that leave the wearer's hands dirty. Fingerprints are          noticeable on them so use a dark coloured fabric.
•    Winter clothing seldom, if ever, sells in summer.
•    Christmas items do not sell after Christmas – so, mark them down around the 15th December.

When putting your articles on display, cater for the season.  That does not mean that you have to discard or give away items that have not been sold by the end of the season.  Simply mark them at a discount a month before the end of the season, then, pack them away until that season comes around again.

By giving customers what they want, you will find that they will come back to you time and again.  Shoppers don't like walking up and down shopping malls, searching for the perfect item.  If they have discovered that you have a good variety at affordable prices, they will come again and tell their friends about you too.
